Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Strapla collects and uses your personal data when you visit strapla.com, create an account, subscribe to our newsletter or place an order. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP / revFADP) and, for customers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / UK GDPR).

2. Data we collect

  • Order data: name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, ordered products and order history.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by Shopify's payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Account data: email address, password (encrypted) and preferences, if you create an account.
  • Newsletter: your email address and consent, if you subscribe.
  • Communications: the messages you send us, for example through the contact form.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).

3. Why we use your data, and legal bases

  • To process and deliver your order, handle returns and answer your requests: performance of the contract.
  • To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our shop secure: legitimate interest.
  • To send you our newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • To measure our audience and show relevant ads: your consent, given through the cookie banner.

4. Who we share your data with

We only share your data with providers we need to run the shop:

  • Shopify (store hosting, checkout, emails);
  • payment providers (card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay and other methods shown at checkout);
  • our logistics partner and carriers (name, address, phone number and order contents, to deliver your parcel);
  • with your consent, analytics and advertising partners (for example Google, Meta, TikTok).

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some providers are located outside Switzerland and the EEA, in particular in the United States (Shopify, analytics and advertising partners) and in China (our logistics partner, for the data needed to ship your order). For these transfers, we rely on adequacy decisions, the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or standard contractual clauses, or on the fact that the transfer is necessary to perform your order.

6. How long we keep your data

Order and accounting data are kept for 10 years, as required by Swiss law. Account data are kept until you delete your account. Newsletter data are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request.

7. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the shop to work (cart, checkout, security, your cookie choice) and, only with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept, refuse or customise non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page.

8. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, receive a copy of it (portability), restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time. To opt out of data sharing for targeted advertising, use our privacy choices page. Write to contact@strapla.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity and reply within 30 days.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or with the data protection authority of your country of residence in the EEA.

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information by email.

10. Children

Our shop is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page, with its date of last update.
